Welcome to our Shaklee Business Newsletter for the first month of the rest of your life. That's right, every day, every week, and every month is the first of the rest of your life. So what you think, what you do, and what you believe today, will make all the difference in where you end up tomorrow. Dr Shaklee always taught this in the beginning of this great company and it is even more true for us today.

As many of you know by now, the surprise we had on last Thursday's Leadership conference call was Steve Siebold, the author of the book 177 Mental Toughness Secrets of The World Class. He is a leader that you could listen to for hours. His excitement for life, his attitude, his thoughts, his openness to new ideas, his kindness, everything about him, is what true leaders are all about. So if you want to get to where you want in life, learn from people like this and get around other people who want the same. Better yet, get around people who are willing to do something about it and are going in the right direction! 

Half of Enjoying Success in this Business is "Knowing What To Do"

I have been training so many people on the RWB process over the past three years, and a lot of you over the last few weeks during the special I offered. In doing so, I also get to learn a lot from you. One question I would always ask myself is this; Why do some people do very well in this business and others do not? The answer was always the same for those who were doing well. They were shown what to do and they believed they could.

Let me repeat that one again. "They were shown what to do and they believed they could.

Now this may not sound like anything new or something that could make a difference, but boy does it!
Think about it for a minute. No matter what process a person decides to use, it is that person's belief system that makes the difference for them every time. If this was not true, then everyone would already be a Master Coordinator in Shaklee many years ago when the company first started to teach them what to do. Just think, if this did happen, today there would be nobody left to sponsor. :0

However, there are tons of people who never even heard of Shaklee and even more who don't really understand what it has to offer and how it works. So the world is wide open to the few who truly do understand these two things that everyone must have to be successful in this industry. So let's look at both of them right now.

The First Thing is to "Know What to Do".
I repaired cars for a living many years ago. In order for me to earn a good income to support my family doing that, I first had to be shown what to do. Once I was shown what to do, and I did it, I continued to get really good over the 16 years that I was in that field. I made some mistakes and learned even more because of them. But because I never gave up, I was paid top dollor for my experience.

This is true in Shaklee as well. If you want to build a successful business you need to be shown what to do. So having a process to follow and to teach others in this business is a very important thing to have. You can't build a network marketing business without it. You can sell products without one, and if you are very good at sales you could sell a lot of products. But for the rest of us who don't like to sell, which is 86% of the population, but do want to earn a full time income in this industry, there is a much better way.

When you really understand the concept of a true Network Marketing business, it makes all the difference in the world and takes the pressure off of you. Only then does the fun really begin! 

You cannot expect anyone else to follow you if you don't know where you are going, right? After all, this is a leadership business so you need to lead others to reach their core desires in life if you want to reach yours. If you ever expect to make this a full time income for your family, if that is what you want, than you will need to help a lot of other people by leading them through a simple process.

So having a simple process that others can do that explains what Shaklee offers and exactly how to get there step-by-step is very important. However, this is only one thing you need to have for success in this industry.

The Other Half of Success in this Business is "Believing You Can"

So let's say you have a process that is simple to follow and you are using it. You know what to do, what to say, what to teach and so forth. Well, if you are doing this everyday, why are you not where you want to be in your business? It all comes down to your self-belief. 

The Second Thing You Need is to "Believe You Can.
There are only a few people in this world who are willing to work on their thoughts everyday and begin to change it to what it needs to be focused on. Steve said that he found that this group of people is very very small. In fact, he said it is likely to be less than 5% of the total population! Only 5%? Yes, that's true and maybe it is because of all the negative thoughts we get from the world we live in. Turn the news on and see if you don't get depressed.

This kind of daily conditioning leads many people to just give up on their dreams. Many of them don't really believe they could really have the kind of lifestyle they want, so they end up watching TV to watch others live the lives they want. They end up settling for a weekly pay check and some continue to complain about what is not happening in their life.

So the question each of us can ask ourself is this; Do we want to be part of this world class group which is the top 5% thinkers of the world? If so, we need to do what they have done which means that we need to take action to change something in ourself. The exciting part is that we can make this change if we want because what we need to do to change our belief is available to all of us if only we look for it!

I am sure if I asked different leaders to send me a list of books on this subject I would get enough to fill this page. And if you notice, it's a very very long page! Another great source that many of you have gone to is the DVD called The Secret. I watched this twice in a row the first time I played it. Many of Steves friends are on the DVD because this secret is how all world class people think. And they are more than willing to teach you this secret as well. The first time I used it was to get over my fear of heights, and it worked! I also used it to beat cancer but at the time I didn't know I was using this secret. But now that I do know about it, I can use it at will anytime I wish!

You can watch this DVD online but I would suggest you buy it because once you view it, you will want to replay it again and again. And if you are like those of us who already own a copy, you will want to share it with your family, friends, and everyone else you want to help to a better future.

Also, as I was writing this newsletter, Allan and Hannah Sharapan, who are also very successful and Shaklee Master Coordinators, sent me a message from Brian Tracy, another one who understands what success is all about. I included it below for when you have time to read it, like now ;).

The reason they all have such great belief in where they are going is because they read this kind of information all the time. In other words, they put good stuff in their thinking process to replace the bad stuff and so the change is automatic. Just look at the success they all have in this industry and you will see the results you can also expect when you do the same.

Read Brian's message a few times below for he hits on these points very well. But even more important, don't just read it this time, or watch the DVD, or listen to this great information. Begin today to use it in your life to take you where you want to be. It is very powerful stuff and it does work. But the one question I have for you is this, do you believe it?

The Parable of the Talents is the primary reason for wealth or poverty throughout history.

Reasons For Rich or Poor

Why do some people retire rich and most people retire poor? This subject has fascinated philosophers, thinkers, mystics and teachers throughout the ages. There have been so many cases of hundreds or thousands and even millions of men and women who have started with nothing and become financially independent that people are naturally curious to know why it happened and what are the common rules or principles that others can apply to become wealthy as well.

Why People Become Rich

One illustration of this key principle is called the parable of the talents. In the Bible, it says, "To him that hath, shall more be given, and he shall have abundance. But from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away."

Accumulation Leads to More Accumulation
What does it mean? In the modern world, we say "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer." The fact is that people who accumulate money tend to accumulate more and more. People who don't accumulate money seem to lose even that little bit of money which they have.

Why should this happen? The great success principle, the single idea that explains human destiny is simple. It says that, "you become what you think about, most of the time."

Control Your Thoughts
And whatever you dwell upon, grows in your reality. You create your entire world by the things you choose to think about and how you choose to think about them.

It just so happens that wealthy, successful people fill their minds with thoughts, words, pictures and images of wealth, affluence, success, productivity and solutions to problems in the marketplace, most of the time. These thoughts trigger the reticular activating cortex, the part of the brain that makes you more alert and sensitive to things that you have decided are important to you.

Activate Your Reticular Cortex 
For example, if you decide to invest in a mutual fund, you will start to see news and information about mutual funds everywhere. Mentions in newspapers and magazines will jump out at you. These notices have always been there but now you have sensitized your brain to pick them up and draw them to your attention with far greater frequency and vividness. This is the function and power of your reticular cortex.

Avoid Poverty Thinking 
On the other hand, what do poor people think about most of the time? Unfortunately, poor people fill their minds with thoughts of scarcity, lack, poverty, being unable to afford things. They are always thinking and talking about how little money they have, how much things cost and how they wish things could be better financially. What they think about most of the time is how little money they have.

Think Like Wealthy People Think 
Wealthy people from an early age think about how much they have, how much they want and all the different things they can do to acquire and earn the money and things they desire.

Find Out How Rich People Think 
Here's a rule for you. If you want to become successful, find out what failures do and don't do it. If you want to be wealthy, find out what poor people think about, and avoid thinking in those ways. Instead, find out how wealthy people think. Find out what they read. Find out how they spend their time. Study their lives, read their stories and autobiographies and listen to their words when they are interviewed and on tape. The more you find out what financially successful people think and talk about most of the time, and do the same things, the more rapidly you will enjoy the same rewards that they do.

Action Exercises
Here are two things you can do to put this parable of the talents into action:

First, make a decision today that from now on you will think and talk only about the financial success that you desire. At the same time, you will refuse to talk about or dwell upon your financial problems.

Second, instead of saying, "I can't afford it," instead ask the question, "How can I afford it?" When you think of something that you want or need that you don't have the money for at the time, the only question you ask is, "How?" How can you get it? What can you do to achieve it? What are your options? How can you get from where you are to where you want to go? This type of attitude will change your life.
